At a glance

The short version. The full policy below is what applies.

  • Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in and protect your account; they cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics and advertising cookies are only set on the public website and only with your consent.
  • No advertising or tracking cookies are used inside the signed-in learning experience.
  • You can change your choices at any time from the cookie banner or your browser settings.

This Cookie Policy explains how Tutorio uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies on tutorio.app and in the Tutorio apps, what each one does, and how you can control them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local storage and session storage are similar browser features that store data without sending it with every request. Apps use equivalent on-device storage. We refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.

How we group them

  • Strictly necessary - needed for Tutorio to work and to keep it secure. These do not require consent.
  • Functional - remember your choices, such as theme and dismissed notices, so we do not ask again.
  • Analytics - help us understand how the public website is used. Set only with consent.
  • Advertising - used by our advertising partner on public pages only, and only with consent. Never used inside the signed-in learning experience or for learners we know to be children.

Third-party embeds such as YouTube videos may set their own cookies when you play them. We use privacy-enhanced embeds where the provider offers them.

Cookies in the apps

The Tutorio apps display Tutorio inside a secure web view and use the strictly necessary and functional storage above. The apps do not contain third-party advertising SDKs. Apple and Google may collect their own diagnostic data under their policies.

Managing your choices

  • On public pages, use the cookie banner to accept or reject analytics and advertising cookies. You can reopen it from the link in the footer at any time.
  • Your browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in.
  • Google explains how to control advertising personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
  • In the apps, you can clear stored data by signing out or deleting and reinstalling the app.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we treat it as a rejection of analytics and advertising cookies.

Changes

We will update this policy when the cookies we use change. The version history below records each change.
