What uses credits, what doesn't, how the monthly allowance works, credit packs and auto-top-up.

AI features draw on a credit wallet. Each plan refills it monthly; packs top it up; Studio shares one wallet across the organisation. The credits meter in the workspace header shows what's left.

The credits meter and the top-up sheet: allowance, packs and auto-recharge.

What uses credits#

  • Generating or regenerating lessons and cards.
  • Building a bespoke Review or a tailored course.
  • Find with AI resource searches.
  • Image generation for covers and cards.
  • Offer documents and narrative reports.

What doesn't#

  • Students practising - ever.
  • Live lessons, marking, assignments, progress and dashboards.
  • The tap-a-word dictionary.
  • Editing content by hand.

Running out#

When the wallet is empty, AI actions show a credits sheet instead of running. Background builds pause and resume automatically after a top-up. Auto-recharge (Billing → Credits) buys a pack when the wallet dips below a level you choose.

Common questions#

Do unused credits roll over?

The monthly allowance resets; purchased packs don't expire.

Why did a build cost more than the estimate?

Estimates assume a typical lesson. Very long source documents or lots of images can cost more; the final figure is shown on the build's receipt.

Can I see what each build cost?

Yes - Billing → AI usage lists every job with its cost.
